Let me solo her reaction to the Elden Ring DLC announcement

Developer FromSoftware recently confirmed on Twitter that an expansion pack for the year's best game, Elden Ring, is in the works, prompting an outpouring of support from a surprised player base. Among fans of FromSoftware games, most notably YouTuber Let Me Solo Her, he wasted no time spreading the word, confirming their excitement for the upcoming DLC release. Players can prepare enough Cheap Elden Ring Runes in the game.

While the Dark Souls trilogy included a wildly popular set of downloadable content packs, it's been several years since FromSoftware actually produced any quality post-launch content. Despite winning Game of the Year in 2019, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice never received any substantial story expansion, instead receiving a free update that introduced new skins and a series of revised boss encounters war. In fact, the last notable DLC release from FromSoftware was Dark Souls 3's Rim, which debuted six years ago.

With that in mind, there's a lot of anticipation for Elden Ring's first DLC. Let Me Solo Her had only a two-word response to the announcement, but "so hyped" might be the emotional guesswork of all FromSoftware fans right now. Titled Shadows of the Erdtree, there isn't much to go on about a potential DLC story element, though it does appear to take place after the game's climactic ending.

Of course, simple chronological order means little in FromSoftware's world; Dark Souls' Artorias of the Abyss DLC takes place long before the events of the main game and can be accessed via time travel. Likewise, Dark Souls 3's Ashes of Ariandel DLC is set in a painting, a setting that frees developers from the confines of a standard serial story. Given the openness of the game's many endings, Elden Ring's DLC could go in a few different directions, and it might provide a more definitive conclusion to The Lands Between and the many Outer Gods' struggle for control of the realm.

The only promotional image released by FromSoftware shows the bleak landscape suffering in the shadow of the destroyed Erdtree, but it also includes a figure many believe to be Miquella. The name should be familiar to those who have explored the Mohg and Malenia storylines, and the latter boss' wrath will be well known to players seeking help from Let Me Solo Her. Maybe she'll be a friendly NPC with some kind of role in restoring the devastated Erdtree, or maybe she'll be the next unrelenting boss Let Me Solo Her conquer - only time will tell.
